SKILLS TO PRACTICE
What participation could look like.
- Passing, catching, handoffs, ball security, and flag-pulling mechanics.
- Listening in a huddle and learning a play before moving.
- Rotating roles, completing assignments, and supporting teammates.
- Stopping at the whistle and returning after a mistake.
SAMPLE SESSION
Predictable structure. Active learning.
| Block | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Huddle | Review the plan, safety rules, and shared goal. |
| Skill stations | Passing, receiving, movement, and controlled flag-pull practice. |
| Small-sided play | Non-contact scenarios with short instructions and role rotation. |
| Team transfer | Reflect on responsibility, communication, and safe mistake recovery. |
AGE-RESPONSIVE COACHING
Start where the young person is.
Within Game Plan Academy, the 5–7, 8–10, and 11–12 age bands use different instructions, equipment, pacing, and challenges. Youth preference, developmental fit, accessibility, medical restrictions, staffing, and the actual space guide participation. No child needs to perform advanced skill to deserve respectful coaching.
SAFETY LIMITS
Protection before performance.
- No tackling, collision drills, blocking contact, or head-contact drills.
- No hazing, retaliation, humiliation, or injury-glorifying toughness tests.
- Leagues, games, roster sizes, equipment, fees, and locations remain unconfirmed until released.
Qualified leadership, screened adults, emergency readiness, age-appropriate equipment, parent communication, and an approved site must be in place before this pathway opens.
