OUR SAFEGUARDING DESIGN
Policies must become actual behavior.
- Screen and approve adults before youth access.
- Use observable and interruptible interactions and adequate coverage.
- Include caregivers or approved adults in youth communication; no private adult-to-youth DMs.
- No physical discipline, humiliation, hazing, intimidation, forced exercise, or withheld food or water.
- Control visitors, restrooms, equipment, transportation, and release.
- Protect privacy without promising secrecy about safety.
- Do not investigate suspected abuse; protect, report, document facts, and follow the applicable procedure.
- Review concerns, restrict access when appropriate, and track corrective actions.
SAFE PARTICIPATION
Correct the behavior without defining the child.
Adults teach replacement skills, support regulation, use respectful limits, and provide a return pathway after mistakes. Modified participation, pause decisions, and higher-level support should be based on safety and actual capacity—not labels or public embarrassment.
